VLC Snap hasn't been updated in two years: Seeking help for the maintainers?

I was looking into installing the VLC Snap on Ubuntu 24.04 because the APT version is several releases behind. However, I noticed that the Snap version is also outdated. After checking their GitLab, I found a discussion from two weeks ago highlighting current technical difficulties with the packaging process.

I’d love to help out more, but I only know the basics of Snapcraft. I’m just stopping by to spread the word and see if an expert can lend them a hand. VLC is a must-have on Linux, and it would be great to make sure the Snap version doesn’t fall behind.

Thank you for your time, and I apologize for any trouble.
