VLC edge leaves older config files behind when new version is installed

I wasn’t sure where to report issues with vlc from the edge channel, so please forgive me if this is not the right place, I’d appreciate if someone could point me the right direction.

I installed vlc edge a week ago, and I’ve noticed now that the config directories of older versions are left behind when new versions are installed:

paulo:~$ tree snap
snap
└── vlc
    ├── 387
    ├── 389
    ├── 391
    ├── common
    │   └── vlcrc
    └── current -> 389

6 directories, 1 file

Do I need to configure something so that, when a new version is installed, the previous config directory is removed ?

I’m running vlc 4.0.0-dev-3422-g565d5c5 on Xubuntu 18.04.
