UC22 real-time kernel

Hi,

The release info published for UC22 mentions real-time kernel support, in beta. However, there seems to be no info I can find regarding how to enable it. Is it a separate kernel snap, or somehow part of the standard pc-kernel snap ? I assume a separate snap, but couldn’t see anything obvious with a quick search.

Thanks!

Cheers, Just

Hi @jocado,

Could you please point me out to the post that mentions about real time kernel for UC 22? AFAIK, real-time kernel will only be available for Ubuntu Classic (Desktop or Server). The details can be seen in the following post => https://ubuntu.com/blog/real-time-ubuntu-released

However, we have a low-latency kernel snap available here => https://snapcraft.io/pc-lowlatency-kernel

Some blogs posts that discusses the real time vs low-latency can be seen in here.

Hope it helps, Bugra

Hi,

Thanks for the extra info. I presume that snap is the one

It was mentioned here:

Also, in this webcast too: https://www.brighttalk.com/webcast/6793/546753

Looking at the snap, it has channels for older UC version, so I don’t know why it’s been called out specifically for UC22.
