Hello, I am running Ubuntu 20.04 and yesterday did a normal update via the ubuntu updater which seemingly had no issues. However, after the reboot, I found I could no longer run gimp, inkscape, okular, and a few other standard applications including the ubuntu software app itself. Looking in syslog, I found the above error message - nothing is output to the screen when I run these apps, the app just fails to run. I have followed various instructions given in multiple places, including here and on stackoverflow, but nothing has cured the problem. This is seriously impacting my work at the moment as the apps affected are all ones I rely heavily on. I would be most grateful if anyone has any ideas I can try. Below are some details of my system.
