Hello,
I would like to apply for Star Developer status as an independent Snap publisher.
My name is Viktor Kirillov. I am the original author, maintainer and publisher of FastView:
FastView is a proprietary freeware image viewer and photo manager for Linux. I develop and maintain it independently and do not represent a company, institution or foundation.
I have prepared the application specifically for Linux and Snap distribution, including:
- strict confinement;
- desktop integration and multilingual documentation;
- native DEB, AppImage and Snap packages;
- support for manual Snap interface connections;
- runtime permission checks using snapctl;
- user documentation explaining required permissions;
- continued testing, maintenance and responses to review feedback.
I am currently participating in the Snapcraft review process here:
The reviewers indicated that publisher vetting is required because FastView uses the super-privileged personal-files interface for optional access to the standard desktop Trash directory.
As an individual upstream developer, I cannot apply as a Verified Publisher because I have no company or group corporate email address. I do not want to provide fictitious organisation information.
I intend to continue maintaining FastView, supporting its users, participating constructively in the Snapcraft community and keeping the snap updated.
Thank you for considering my application.
