Snaps are not appearing in their category on snapcraft.io

Hello,
A few snap I’ve published are not in there category.
the list is : spider-solitaire reversu minesweeper mahjong-game freecell-solitaire balloon-pop bubble-pop connect4 explode-bricks tic-tac-toe
they should go to game category.

Ping @advocacy to review and add to games category.

All snaps listed in https://snapcraft.io/search?category=games

This thread suggests pinging @advocacy - whatever that means, to get apps reviewed and listed in official categories. I have added advocacy to the “to” users in a forum private message but no user matches?

My issue: I have the category of my app https://snapcraft.io/pynsource/listing set to “Development” yet it does not appear in that category in the Ubuntu Software app store - presumably it might eventually appear automatically if it gets enough downloads? Is there an official process defined for getting listed in categories?

Yes https://snapcraft.io/search?category=development&q=uml works and lists Pynsource - so the “development category” is working ok there - but that is only via the snapcraft.io web pages. I’m talking about the “Ubuntu Software” app inside Linux itself, and getting listed in its categories.

There’s a mismatch between the store categories and the gnome software categories: the store calls it development, gnome’s software calls it developers.

Thanks - so is there a way to mark my snap with that additional category developers ? I tried adding a second category via my snapcraft app page, but the dropdown does not list developers and there is no way to add custom categories.

Also - FYI the (in my case, many times edited) description in the snapcraft app page does not ripple through to the “Ubuntu Software” app inside Linux. It seems “Ubuntu Software” uses the description section in the snapcraft.yaml file, not the snapcraft app page description. So, potentially another mismatch.

no.

if the snap is installed, gnome software will show you the description the store had when you installed it (or when it last refreshed it).
