Thanks! I’m excited to get started.
Some general info:
- How Snapcrafters works: https://github.com/snapcrafters/.github/blob/main/docs/PROCESSES.md
- Our contributing guide: https://github.com/snapcrafters/.github/wiki/Contributing
- How permissions work: https://github.com/snapcrafters/.github/wiki/Permissions-and-Secrets
- Our latest and greatest automation is on the signal-desktop repo: https://github.com/snapcrafters/signal-desktop/tree/candidate/.github/workflows
In general:
- Wiki is for general info and documentation, easy to change by anyone
- PROCESSES.md doc is for formal processes where we need some consensus before changing it
Our current goals is to automate as much as possible from GitHub using the new automation code. Feel free to create PRs for adding automation code on the repositories you care about. Ping me to set the permissions correctly.
Also let me know if you have any other questions
I would love to be part snapcrafters community.
Here is my Snap repository - https://github.com/shakeelansari63/snap-packages

Hey, cool!
I see you’re using GitHub actions too, that’s nice!
We have a Matrix room with snapcrafters and friends where we talk about development. Can you send me your Matrix ID so I can add you to our room?
The info at the top of this post is quite outdated. You can find the latest info in our readme: https://github.com/snapcrafters/
You’re free to join our Matrix room and start helping us out on GitHub by creating pull requests to our existing snaps. Once you’ve been contributing to our snaps for a while (typically 6 months), you can apply to become a member and get more privileges.
Feel free to contact me personally if you have any questions! I’m happy to help you out!
hi @galgalesh , my Matrix Id is @shakeelansari63:matrix.org
Hi, Coming from @jnsgruk’s post. I’d like to help (or at least to try, I’m not an expert on snaps)
My name is Yazan Salti, it’s @yazansalti
:ubuntu.com on Matrix.
You have an invitation!
Hi, I would like to join and help to maintain any snap. I’m not an expert, but I had already some knowledge.
My name is Robert Gildein and you can contact me on Matrix @rgildein:ubuntu.com.
Added! Reach out if you need any suggestions on where to start!
Hai All! I’d want to start contributions to snapcrafters as regular drive-byer
Recently I’ve upgraded GitHub.com/tio/tio.snapcraft snap to core22 by PR, and I plan to spin tio-strict one as an attempt to make it strictly confined. In snapcrafters community is there a place for gadget snaps and others related to IoT? Because that would be awesome
My contact info: @KhazAkar:matrix.org
Still learning that stuff, but willing to improve even further my skill-set, as well as portfolio of snapcrafters snaps
Hi!
I’m trying to convert tremulous-snap - [no description] by using the Snapcrafters’ template to GitHub - GrangerHub/tremulous-snap: Snap package for Tremulous client . I had a few snap debugging and repackaging experiences in the past, but looking forward to be part of this community!
Thanks
Hi!
I’m working on snapping Proton Mail and Proton Pass. I have also contributed to a small bug fix for the Alacritty snap. I would like to join the snapcrafters community. I would like to help maintain any snap, but I especially want to bring all of the Proton-related applications to snapcraft, as I noticed these were missing.
My Matrix handle is @pavalos:matrix.org
Hello everyone! My name is Eliot Huh and I have a background as a Java/Python/Rust developer in finance. I’m new to this community and was curious about which 3rd party applications currently seem to have the most need for support. What kinds of snaps would be most helpful to users and how do you all usually develop ideas for what kinds of changes to make? I really love how this community makes installing applications accessible and hope to contribute in the future!
