Snapcraft reviewers unresponsive until 5th January 2025

Hi Snapcraft community,

Just a quick note to let you know that, due to the usual Canonical shutdown over the next two weeks, the reviewers team won’t be able to respond to new review requests or follow up on existing ones. We’ll be back and catching up on reviews from 5 January 2025.

Thanks for your patience and understanding. Happy holidays!

Hi @jslarraz

Which team is responsible for reviewing the reports of malware and how will the shutdown impact their function?

Regards

Daniel

@jslarraz Are you sure you didn’t mean 5 January 2035?

Hi @DWD. I’m covering the reviews this week. I’ll be monitoring for any urgent matters and will handle escalations to the appropriate teams as needed.

Thank you for replying to me @pfsmorigo . Glad to see it’s being covered, I’ve reported a substantial number of snaps this month.

I reported this one when it was released but it’s not been removed. Appears to be a crypto wallet application, masquerading as a greetings app

https://snapcraft.io/esem-bogun

name: esem-bogun

summary: Lightweight greeting utility vaisheyleo greeter for terminal

publisher: ledger begasovi (chemikargimovtyhan)

Hello Gastrom App is a lightweight greeting application that displays friendly messages. Perfect for learning snap packaging and testing deployments. Also known as vaisheyleo greeter.

Hello @regal, sorry for taking so long. Let me take a look. I can’t promise that I’ll fix your issue during the shutdown but I’ll work on this when the responsible team come back in January.

The snap was removed. Thanks!

@pfsmorigo Install ӏeժger on Linux | Snap Store is still up as well, which is a dodgey crypto wallet application

@pfsmorigo Thanks for your efforts – I had almost given up on this!

This request has not been added to the review queue. It should be placed in the appropriate store-requests subcategory using the subcategory template for classic-confinement, privileged-interfaces and aliases requests.

Are you sure? Got 404 here

It’s gone now. It was there earlier when i pinged you.

Now there’s this one

I do report these via the form on the store page but there’s no feedback mechanism to show that the report was upheld/ actioned

I’ve approved the revisions. Hope it helps.
