After a fresh Ubuntu 24.04 LTS / Ubuntu 24.10 installation, the default software collecyion has correct language on the interface (for example the default Firefox snap). Installing LibreOffice though (that so many do after the OS install) from AppCenter does not.
Within LibreOffice (for example its Writer): the interface language cannot be changed conveniently right there from Writer’s own settings. This apparently means that a new user somehow has to automatically know to head to Ubuntu’s settings / language support section. Which then indicates that the current locale’s language packs are insufficient.
Clicking OK to install “the rest of the language” does the trick to extent of spellchecker and everything, which is great, but does it have to be this cumbersome? Why not make the language change more logical (from inside LibreOffice Writer, Calc, etc)?
Could these language packages (possibly many languages have this same problem) be added to the main snap for next level conveniency?
