Request for manual review / allow-installation for simple-video-converter (shutdown plug)

Hello,

My latest snap revision for simple-video-converter is being held for manual review due to the ‘allow-installation’ constraint.

Context: This new version (v1.9) introduces a ‘Post-Queue Action’ feature. Since video conversion can take hours, users requested the ability to let the application automatically shut down their PC overnight once the batch processing is complete.

This action is entirely opt-in by the user via the UI and includes a 60-second cancelable countdown safety net. Therefore, I added the shutdown plug to allow the app to safely power off the machine when requested.

Technical details:

  • The snap is built with core24 as the base.

  • The application operates under strict confinement.

  • The shutdown plug is strictly used for this specific, user-triggered post-queue action.

  • No auto-connection requested: I am fully aware that this is a sensitive plug. The UI will explicitly instruct users to run sudo snap connect simple-video-converter:shutdown in their terminal to enable this feature.

Could you please review and approve this revision?

Thank you!

Following the rejection email and the reviewer’s instructions, I have opened a new detailed request in the correct privileged-interfaces subcategory here: Request for manual 'shutdown' plug usage for simple-video-converter (No auto-connect)
