I’m requesting approval for the gadget snap type for my snap aris-hydronics-gadget
(publisher: matt-tucker).
This is the gadget snap for an Ubuntu Core-based IoT device (ARM64) used in our HVAC
control system. The automated review flagged lint-snap-v2_snap_type_redflag — “type
‘gadget’ not allowed” — which requires manual approval.
This is related to our existing auto-connection request for the companion application
snap: Auto-connection request: aris-hydronics
Hi , following up on this request, which has been open since February 27 with no responses yet. We’re building Aris, a residential air-to-water heat pump system for whole-home heating, cooling, and hot water — the Brain controller runs on Ubuntu Core on a Raspberry Pi inside the unit. We need the gadget type approvalto publish our gadget snap to the store and use snap-ID-based connections for interface auto-connect at first boot.
This is blocking us alongside our related auto-connect request (which has also been waiting nearly a month). Happy to provide any additional info needed. Thanks!
Please note that gadget uploads to the global store are simply not permitted, gadgets not owned by Canonical require a dedicated snap store.
Usually such uploads trigger a process internally that will make you being contacted by a sales person from Canonical, not sure why this did not happen here this time though … I have let someone from sales know about it now …
