The last version of firmware-update requires the shutdown plug to be able to reboot the system if the user decides to do so after an update. This snap is maintained by the desktop team at Canonical.
+1 from my side on auto-connection on the shutdown interface as this request aligns with the snap’s requirement

Agreed. +1 from me as it should not be a surprise to anyone to find a firmware update needs to reboot their system.
I think this is a good candidate for fast-tracking, if other @reviewers agree. +2 for already and there is precendent here
