interfaces:

  • audio-record:
    • request-type: auto-connection
    • reasoning: On-device voice transcription is a core, user-facing feature of QVAC Workbench. The application provides accurate speech-to-text capabilities that run entirely locally — no audio data leaves the user’s machine. Without audio-record connected, the voice transcription feature fails after installation with an error suggesting the cause may be a missing permission. Since the application is strictly confined and voice input is an integral part of the AI assistant workflow, automatic connection is necessary for the expected out-of-box experience.

Hello @chetas.murali!

Given the snap functionality, the requested interface seems reasonable, so +1 (#voteFor) from my side for auto-connecting the audio-record interface to the qvac-workbench snap.

Small note: It might be a good idea to include a disclaimer in the snap description explaining that the application requires microphone access.

I agree it would be good to make that clear to the user in the snap description. Other than that, looks reasonable to me (#voteFor)

+2 for, 0 against granting QVAC workbench auto-connection to the audio-record interface. This is now live.
