Questions about gpu and gnome extensions

Hello!

We try to use [gpu] extension. We built our snap using the latest snapcraft with [gpu] extension support. Our app uses X11 video extension - xvimagesink gstreamer plugin, but there is no xvimagesink plugin for gpu extension. As we understand, X11 support in [gpu] extension is truncated. As a result, we install the package to support xvimagesink manually in our snapcraft.yaml file. The absence of xvimagesink plugin does not make it possible to fully use our app on older operating systems: Ubuntu 24.04 with X server. Will X11 support be added to the future version of [gpu] extension or not? In fact, we’re just trying to figure out where to go next… We need to support older Linux distributions with X server installed.

As far as we understand, gstreamer plugins are located inside the [gnome] extension. Also there is vaapi support inside of [gpu] extension, but there is no gstreamer vaapi plugins. We need to install gstreamer vaapi plugins separatly inside our snapcraft.yaml file. If this is possible, could you please add gstreamer vaapi plugins support inside [gpu] or [gnome] extension?

Thank you!
