Published Xerolas as a Snap, looking for Linux packaging feedback

Hi everyone,

I recently published Xerolas as a Snap, and I’d appreciate feedback from Linux/Snap users.

Xerolas is a desktop screen-intelligence tool. The basic flow is:

Press a hotkey → select any region on screen → get an AI answer beside the capture.

It is meant to work across apps, not only inside a browser. I’ve been using it for things like reading errors, summarizing text, translating selected content, and asking follow-up questions about whatever is visible on screen.

Install:

sudo snap install xerolas

I’m mainly looking for feedback on the Snap packaging side:

  • Does install/open work cleanly on your distro?

  • Does the launcher icon show correctly?

  • Do hotkeys and screen capture behave correctly under your desktop environment?

  • Are there any sandbox/permission issues?

  • Is anything confusing in App Center / Snap Store metadata?

If you test it, please mention your distro, desktop environment, and whether you installed from the terminal or App Center.

Thanks. Critical feedback is very welcome.
