No menu entries after installing snaps on Mint 20.1 Cinnamon

No menu entries are created after installing snaps (terminal or snap-store) on Mint 20.1 Cinnamon, I can only run snaps from terminal. What’s wrong? When i’m installing apps with “apt install” it is ok.

Which snap did you try to install ? It is possible that the snap maintainer did not include a desktop launcher.

You may need to logout/login to ensure paths etc are setup correctly. Have you tried this?

Tried logout/login, nothing changes, snap exaples are: VLC, Evince, Flameshot.

then it is either cinnamon not respecting XDG_DATA_DIRS or ther Mint setup preventing that variable from being extended at login time … what does:

env | grep XDG_DATA_DIRS

inside a graphical terminal return ?

Which shell do you use?

Please provide the output of the following commands:

systemctl --user show-environment |grep XDG_DATA_DIRS

and

env |grep XDG_DATA_DIRS
