Hi.
I can see that there was a snapcrafters nano snap, but it is obviously abandoned. Anyone know why?
I think nano is a good example of an app that would be suitable for a snap package, since it is (to my knowledge) pretty stand-alone, and still being developed.
Hello, I am the one that powered the nano snap, it is not abandoned but rather not up-to-date due to lacking manpower.
If you found the snap has any problems, please kindly file it at Issues · snapcrafters/nano , or post it in the snap forum category, thank you!
v5.2 is now in the beta channel:
I’ve just promoted the v5.2 build to the nano snap’s beta channel and if you’re interested to try it out please run:
sudo snap install --channel=beta --classic nano
NOTE: This is a snap under classic confinement, you may refer the packaging recipe if you have any concerns .
For existing users please run the following command instead:
sudo snap refresh --channel=beta nano
Please kindly report any problems you encountered while using the snap, thanks!
Cool, thanks - will try it out!

Just tested nano 5.4 from the edge channel. I get the following error when trying to run it:
From Tmux:
Error opening terminal: screen-256color.
From regular terminal:
Error opening terminal: xterm-256color.
So it basically outputs the contents of my $TERM with an error.
Any clue to this error?
