Minecraft 2.1.128 and 2.1.1349 - 'authentication servers are down' poss. rel. to MCL-9794 ca-certificate-java issue

I’m experiencing an issue (for about the past week) with the Minecraft snaps 2.1.1218 (14) and 2.1.1349 (15), where I can play singleplayer fine (with Minecraft Java Edition 1.13) but if I try to connect to my multiplayer server I get ‘authentication servers are down for maintenance’, though a windows PC is able to connect fine. snap info at the end of this post.

This appears to be the issue described in MCL-9794; the recommended fix in that issue is to update the ca-certificates-java package.

If you’re able to confirm the issue, could you test whether that update fixes it, and if so could you release a new snap with an updated ca-certificates-java package? Thanks!

As a side note, I’m also experiencing an issue launching any Minecraft Java edition version older than 1.13; this appears to be the same (including the same symptoms in the crash report) as reported in MCL-9735; this is still an open issue on Mojang’s tracker, so I don’t think there’s anything you folks can do about it, just mentioning it for your awareness.

A game about placing blocks and going on adventures.

It’s set in infinitely-generated worlds of wide open terrain - icy
mountains, swampy bayous, vast pastures and much more - filled with
secrets, wonders and peril!
