Manual review reqeust for opera-gx

We are still waiting for manul review of new opera-gx snap. Is there any way to find out status or speed up process:

2026-02-12 08:23:57.735 Status: error while processing 2026-02-12 08:23:57.736 Issues while processing snap: 2026-02-12 08:23:57.736 - human review required due to 'deny-connection' constraint (interface attributes). If using a chromium webview, you can disable the internal sandbox (eg, use --no-sandbox) and remove the 'allow-sandbox' attribute instead. For QtWebEngine webviews, export QTWEBENGINE_DISABLE_SANDBOX=1 to disable its internal sandbox. 2026-02-12 08:23:57.736 - human review required due to 'deny-connection' constraint (interface attributes) 2026-02-12 08:23:57.736 - found errors in file output: unusual mode 'rwsr-xr-x' for entry './usr/lib/x86_64-linux-gnu/opera/opera_sandbox'

This request has not been added to the review queue. It should be placed in the appropriate store-requests subcategory using the subcategory template for classic-confinement, privileged-interfaces and aliases requests.

Hey @gmiazga

As far as I can see it requires the same permissions as the other opera snaps. Given that it is essentially the same software from the same publisher I think we can go ahead and grant it. I’ll do it (hopefully) tomorrow as it needs also some changes in review-tools because of the unusual mode 'rwsr-xr-x' for entry './usr/lib/x86_64-linux-gnu/opera/opera_sandbox'

I’ll let you know once it is done

@jslarraz any update?

Hey @gmiazga, sorry for the lack of updates

I’ve updated the snap-declaration for the browser-support and dbus interfaces. I’ve also added the override to review-tools and opera-gx pass automatic review when using review-tools snap form --edge channel. This new review-tools version still needs to be deployed in the store, but I’ll be happy to manually review it for now .

Please upload a new revision to the store OR “ask for manual review” in OpenID transaction in progress

Thanks. Uploaded file and now it needs manual review for opera-sandbox as you mentioned. Asked for manual review in OpenID transaction in progress

Hey @jslarraz, any update about manual review?

Hey folks,

Sorry for the delay. I just noticed that our the automation is not working properly and didn’t flag the topic upon your response. We are currently looking into it.

Regarding opera-gx, revision #5 is now live

Thanks

Hey @jslarraz , new revision #6 is already uploaded and manual review requested.

New version uploaded (#8)

New thread created: Manual review reqeust for opera-gx #8

Hey @djankowski

Sorry for the long delay.

I’ve just approved revision #10 (which was the only “pending manual review”). If you want me to approve older revisions, please “ask for manual review” in the store dashboard.

I finally created a new review-tools release last week, so opera-gx should pass automatic review as soon as this new version is deployed in the store.

Sorry again

Hey @jslarraz

Thank You for help

Hello,

We have upload new version of snap, however it is still not passing automatic review. Could You please doublecheck the script?

found errors in file output: unusual mode 'rwsr-xr-x' for entry './usr/lib/x86_64-linux-gnu/opera/opera_sandbox' security-snap-v2_squashfs_files

I’ve approved it manually, the new review-tools version should be deployed soon in the store backend

Hello @jslarraz,

another snap is ready to review. Unfortunatelly automated review failed :frowning:

Hey!

I’ve approved the failing revisions manually. I’ll try to clarify why it keeps failing. Sorry about that

Hey @jslarraz ,

any update?

Hello,

Is there anything we can do on our site to have snaps automatically reviewed for Opera GX?

Hey @djankowski

Sorry for the delay in my response. I talked to the team that will do the deployment and it is prioritized now. I expect this to be live during the following days.

Sorry again for all the inconvenience
