Linux mint supports snap packages?

I just tested a Linux Mint 18.1. I can confirm that there I get the correct /etc/os-release. Also inkscape is now in PATH, and works fine.

On Linux Mint 18 it is also working fine, however I had to remove inkscape and reinstall, and restart the PC. I think it is important to mention explicitly in the documentation that after installing snap, either a restart or a logon/logoff is necessary.

I’m happy it worked. I hope Linux Mint and snap continue to get along.

Note that the initial error tells us that mint disables apparmor. Eh, why does mint do that?

Any updates on this, now that Linux Mint 18.2 is out?

I’ll check Mint 18.2 out and report back.

I installed Linux Mint 18.2 the other day to test this. snapd isn’t installed by default, but can be added via sudo apt install snapd. Logout / in to make sure the path is all setup right. Then you’re all set. I installed vscode as a quick test and it works fine here.
