Excuse me for having to insist once more regarding the new version of LibreOffice, in this case 26.8. When could it be available as a snap? This is all the more important now that from version 26.04 onwards Ubuntu ships with the LibreOffice snap as default, if I am not mistaken.
Just as a comparison: on Flatpak LibreOffice 26.8.03 is already downloadable since some 10 days. The charm of sandbox apps is exactly that newer versions can be installed almost immediately without compromising the system’s stability. And yes: snap is my favourite app format!
Excuse me if I am wrong. But it doesn’t change much: LibreOffice is an important tool and the snap store should in my view be keen on supporting the newest releases.
I’d like to but I can’t. I’ll have to undergo a surgical intervention tomorrow and don’t know when I will be able to do it. One of the persons who could make a difference in this is mr. N. Teodosio. I have included him in the cc. He has prepared and uploaded new versions of LibreOffice in the past.
I found that the current snap is made by Rico Tzschichholz, and he is busy today fixing security issues (‘Common vulnerabilities and Exposures = CVE’) with Libreoffice 26.2 and 26.8.
It seems there is still some days or weeks to wait. What is the reason you need 26.8 ?
Update: I found that Rico is a enthusiast, and he has a Patreon web page, where he has (currently) 3 donators and gets 13,62 € per month .
