I am not sure about Fedora, but on Ubuntu the snapd deb will recognise when a newer snapd snap is installed and execute that instead of itself (so-called ‘re-exec’ support in snapd). However, I do not think this is used on Fedora in which case I don’t think installing a newer snapd snap will help. @mvo can you confirm if my understanding is correct?
