Kdenlive file projects disappearing

I am using the snap version of Kdenlive 20.12.3 on Ubuntu 20.04.

A couple of months ago, I was working on a video and after trying to reopen it the next day I couldn’t file the .kdenlive project file anywhere. At the time, I suspected I deleted it by accident.

Today, it happened again. Yesterday night I was working in another video. I tried to resume the work this morning and the .kdelive file was nowhere to be found. But know I am completely sure I didn’t delete it.

Apparently, I am not the only one with this problem: https://forum.kde.org/viewtopic.php?f=269&t=164338. The only thing in common with the other user experiencing this bug is that they are also using the snap version of kdenlive.

It is very, very annoying to lost hours of work with no apparent reason. Anyone else have the same problem?

I reported the bug here: https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=437587

What is the location the files were saved to?

In one occasion it was saved inside the .snap folder, and somehow it seems to got lost in an update of the snap. I get that it is not good practice to save personal files inside the snap folder, but nevertheless it may be an issue for new users.

However, in the last two cases the project were saved to folders inside my home folder. I can confirm this because, after the .kdelive file disappeared, the temporal files kdenlive creates while running were still in the folder.
