Icons on the desktop after an update

Hello,

Nothing serious, but the aesthetics take a hit.

After an automatic update of the snap daemon, the icons are a bit different.

Snapd 2.73, which should be out this/next week carries a fix which is expected to improve the behavior. Can you check what version of snapd you have in the system (run snap version)?

It could be that the transition 2.72 → 2.73 may trigger this, but subsequent updates of snapd and other snaps should not demonstrate this behavior.

Note, I think it’s also expected of the desktop env to actually reload the desktop files when they get modified, which in reality should only make the entries be slightly off for a brief second.

I don’t know what is the content of desktop files you observe this behavior for. If those are copies that hardcode a path to snap revision specific locations, they will stop working.

Thank you for your response.

My current situation:

In fact, from the GNOME menu, with the right mouse button, I simply added to the desktop. And this only concerns the snap system packages.
