Gai-tools 1.2.4 human review required

Dear Snap team,

I am writing to respectfully request a re-evaluation of the required human review for the latest update to my snap, gai-tools. This snap, intended for “Generative-AI tools for beginners,” has been successfully published with five previous versions without issue. This is the sixth revision.

Upon receiving the notification: “human review required due to detection of potentially harmful contents in snap metadata metadata-snap-v2_snap_metadata_redflag,” I immediately reviewed my snap metadata. I can confirm that there have been no significant changes to the metadata in this latest update.

I have consulted the official Snapcraft.io forum, specifically the policy regarding sensitive snap categories. I understand that certain categories, such as financial or banking software, require publisher verification or Star Developer status due to policy restrictions. However, gai-tools does not fall into any sensitive software categories. Its function is strictly limited to providing generative AI tools for introductory use.

Further investigation on the forum revealed several instances of similar “red flag” detections that were subsequently resolved through manual review, indicating potential false positives. Given the nature of my application and the lack of changes in its metadata, it is highly probable that this is a similar misclassification.

Could you please guide me on the specific metadata elements that triggered this review? Understanding the root cause will help prevent future occurrences. In the interim, I kindly request that you expedite the manual review process for gai-tools to allow for its timely release.

Thank you for your time and assistance.

Hello,

I’ve approved the revision – looks to be a false positive. We’re reviewing our scans to find the issue.
