FWUPD version 1.9.3 installed thru snap could not detect FPC Fingerprint Reader

Hi,

We installed fwupdmgr version 1.9.3 thru snap and it could not detect the FPC fingerprint reader on my laptop. However, if we get the same fwupdmgr version from github, build then install, the fingerprint reader can be detected. Any advice? Thank you very much.

System: Lenovo ThinkPad E14 OS: Ubuntu 22.04.2 LTS Kernel: 6.1.0-1008-oem Fingerprint Reader Vendor: FPC Fingerprint Reader Hardware ID: 10a5:9800

Steps to reproduce:

  1. Install Ubuntu 22.04.
  2. Verify at hwinfo and/or lsusb that the system has FPC Fingerprint Reader.
  3. Open terminal console and type: $ sudo apt purge fwupd $ snap install fwupd
  4. Reboot
  5. Open terminal console and type: $ fwupdmgr --version
  6. Version is 1.9.3 --> keypoint, this is the latest fwupd
  7. Type $ fwupdmgr get-devices.
  8. Look for FPC or hwid 9800 on the output. --> problem, FPC or 9800 is not listed
