Failed to launch skrooge (Cannot mix incompatible Qt library)

Hi,

I cannot launch skrooge (new release just pubilshed as snap). I get a lot of warnings for missing icons and a Qt error at the end. As I read by now it seems like skrooge was build against another Qt version, but I thought snaps would contain everything necessary.

I am running an up-to-date elementary OS 5.

Does someone know how to solve this?

it looks like the snap is buggy; I get the same in Ubuntu 16.04.
The snap uses kde-frameworks-5-core18 for a lot of libraries, and I guess it’s holding itself wrong in some way.

Maybe @sitter knows more?

I’ll guess it built against incorrect libraries because of what I discuss in Content snap dev tarball and staging packages

Oh wow, I just saw it today promoted by Ubuntu on twitter and wanted to test it out. Would not have imagined that it does not launche or that there even is a design issue in building snaps in this case.

We promoted the application, at the time it worked fine AIUI.

I tried using skrooge and kde-frameworks-5-core18's channels to get back a working combination, but they’re all a mess :frowning:

Works fine here from revision 14 onwards on both KDE Neon and Ubuntu 18.04.

They fixed it, or I’m losing my mind. Or both!

It works here now on 16.04 with skrooge rev 14 and kde-frameworks-5-core18 rev 28.

Yes I can start it now. But I get a lot of Warnings for missing Icons.

Not sure if this ever really got resolved. I installed the skrooge snap package on Xubuntu 18.04 and 19.04. In both cases, I get the warnings that icons are not found. I’m also unable to open an existing skrooge file. When I click file>open, nothing happens.

The weird thing is that this snap package works on Ubuntu. All of the same snaps are installed, but Ubuntu works and Xubuntu doesn’t.

Any ideas??
