Error: system does not fully support snapd unknown filesystem

hey there,

I tried to install snap but i get this error:
error: system does not fully support snapd: cannot mount squashfs image using
“squashfs”: mount: /tmp/sanity-mountpoint-244694537: unknown filesystem
type ‘squashfs’.

Im new to using linux and cant get it to work, i hope that someone can help me!

Hi @Een_Thijs, what’s your distribution?

This means your kernel does not support ‘squashfs’, it may either be that it was disabled, or the module is missing and needs installing.

Hi Saviq, i`m using arch linux at the moment. maybe a weird one but its psxitarch v2 for ps4, it normally works fine with arch linux compatible programmes.

Did you follow https://snapcraft.io/docs/installing-snap-on-arch-linux?

Yeah I did, I followed until the step to install hello world and then I got the error.

You need to modify your kernel configuration to include squashfs, you’ll be better off asking about how to do that in Arch communities.

This may be a good starting point:

Okay I’ll try that. Thanks!
