Docker snap release planning

Hi guys
Docker Inc just announced that Docker CE version 17.06.0-rc4 is available for testing. And the official release will be rolling out very soon. As we are being driven by upstream docker ce release cycle. We’d like to share the recap for the upcoming Docker snap releases.

docker-snap "master" branch
- auto-publishes to "latest" track "edge" channel
- promoted manually to candidate, then stable after it's verified

docker-snap "17.06" branch
- auto-publishes to "17.06" track "edge" channel
- promoted manually to candidate, then stable after it's verified

before 17.06 GA (which is likely next week BTW)
- users can get 17.06 RCs by opting in to the "17.06" track

for one month after 17.06 GA
- users can get 17.06.x by opting in to the "17.06" track

one month after 17.06 GA
- users of "latest" track will be automatically upgraded to 17.06 without making any changes
- users of "17.06" track will stay on 17.06.x (until they act)
- (may need some more thought) merge 17.06 branch into master, promote to both tracks

We also plan to request a new track 17.03 for the sake of other people who want to stay with it if they don’t want to switch to 17.06-ce for some reasons when “latest” track is automatically upgraded to 17.06 one month later.

Thanks.
