Hi folks. I am the current and original maintainer of the cmake snap, and also one of the CMake co-maintainers. Due to circumstances related to EU law changes, I am no longer willing to continue maintaining the cmake snap. I have sought to arrange with Canonical a smooth transition of the maintainership of the cmake snap, but unfortunately despite repeated attempts to open a dialog with them, they have failed to engage with me in any discussion (apart from acknowledging through a third party my attempt to reach them).
Given the situation, I am left with little alternative but to withdraw the cmake snap from the snap store. I plan to do this some time next week. Once I remove the snap from public availability, if you have the cmake snap installed, it should continue to work, but updates or reinstalls won’t be available.
I remain open to dialog should Canonical choose to get in contact, but my time scales are short and cannot be extended.
