I’m excited to share the release of Simple Video Converter v1.4 with you. This version is a significant step forward, focused on making video conversion more efficient and accessible to the global Linux community.

Simple Video Converter is a high-performance, secure, and offline GUI for FFmpeg. It comes bundled with its own FFmpeg 7.1 engine, specifically compiled to leverage modern Linux hardware.

:rocket: What’s New in v1.4:

  • Full Hardware Acceleration: Improved integration for NVIDIA (NVENC), Intel, and AMD (VA-API/QSV).

  • Broadening Horizons: I’ve added Portuguese (Brazil)! :brazil: The Brazilian Linux community is so vibrant and massive that I felt it was important to make the interface more accessible to them.

  • Security First: The app runs in Strict Mode (secure sandbox) to protect your system while ensuring stability.
