Broken menu bars and clipboard interaction in multiple Snaps (Slack, Steam...) on Ubuntu 26.04

Do you have a problem with the contextual menus in Slack Snao? That is, right click and copy something? For a month it hasn’t worked for me in 26.04, but in 25.10 everything is fine. I’ve reported it on Snapd because it also affects any Steam and Spotify snaps I’ve seen.

“In this first Steam GIF, you can see how the menu bar elements aren’t responding; it’s as if the application is losing focus. This also happens in Slack, but here, I can’t right-click to copy and paste text or use any other options.”

I have also verified that this error does not occur with the .deb version. The Steam Snap hasn’t been updated for several months, and Slack started failing before its last update, which, as you know, is causing other issues unrelated to this one.

So why would you expect snapd to be at fault here (if you check you will most likely find the same snapd snap version used on both systems), this is most likely rather an issue with the desktop compositor itself or a Wayland bug etc…

Uhm… It could also be an issue with how Snapd integrates with the latest version of Gnome / Mutter, right? Honestly, I’m not sure. I’ll report it wherever you think is best. Thank you very much for the message.
