whatly is an MIT-licensed WhatsApp Web desktop client (Qt WebEngine). Publisher: shakaran. I’d like to request auto-connect for the following interfaces so voice/video calls and attachments work out of the box:
- audio-record — microphone, required for WhatsApp voice and video calls.
- camera — required for video calls.
- screen-inhibit-control — keep the screen from sleeping during a call.
- removable-media — let users attach files stored on removable drives.
The app is a browser-based WhatsApp client, so microphone/camera access is core to its purpose (equivalent to WhatsApp Web in a browser). Without auto-connect, users have to run snap connect manually before their first call, which is a poor first-run experience. Thanks!
